The LaCrosse, WI Police Department is hosting a one-day canine legal updates seminar for canine handlers and supervisors. This seminar is presented by Terry Fleck, deputy sheriff and canine handler (retired) and author of Canine Legal Update and Opinions. This is a very popular and worthwhile seminar. Event: PD-1 Training Day

Location: Duluth, MN

Host Agency: Duluth Police Department/USPCA Region 18

Date: May 16, 2008 0900-End

The Duluth Police Department K9 Unit and USPCA Region 18 will be hosting an all-day PD-1 training day on Friday May 16 at 0900 hrs. Anyone interested in attending should meet at the Inn On Lake Superior by 0900 hrs on the 16th. The hotel has extended an invitation to all those in attendance to enjoy a free breakfast buffet prior to the training. Please rsvp to Brad Wick at k9286@aol.com or 218-390-2217 if you wish to attend. Include in your rsvp if you intend on attending the breakfast as well. If there are any trainers that are available to attend and assist in the event, please contact Brad. The training will focus on problem solving and training for the upcoming PD-1 certification. There is no charge for the training and no formal registration is required.

 

Event: PD-1 Problem Solving Seminar

Location: Anoka Police Department - Anoka, MN

Host Agency: Anoka Police Department/USPCA Region 12

Date: May 18, 2008 0800 - End

USPCA Region 12 will be hosting a PD1 problem solving training day on Sunday May 18 at 0800 hrs at the Anoka Police Department. The training day is open to all members of the USPCA at no charge and no class size limitation. Training will involve Criminal Apprehension, Obedience, Agility, Box search, and Article search . There will be five seperate training fields with instructors at each event, the class will be broken down into five groups , moving to each event together. This will be a full day of training with a one hour break for lunch (not provided). The training is designed to allow each k9 team an opportunity to go through each event with instructors providing suggestions on problem solving and ongoing training and contact information after training date. Decoys will not be provided, decoys are welcomed to attend. Please RSVP with Mark Yates with the Anoka Police Department within one weak of event at k9champ@hotmail.com. The class will meet at the Anoka Police Department at 0800 where a waiver must be signed prior to training.
