K9 Maverick
2005 to 2011
Handler Officer Andy Helgerson
K9 Maverick passed away late fall, 2011 from complications from cancer. In Spring of 2005, Maverick was paired with Officer Andy Helgerson from the Eagan Police Department and graduated from the St. Paul Police Basic Canine Course. Since 2005, Maverick has been used hundreds of times in Eagan for such things as: apprehensions, tracks, building searches, narcotic sniffs, and public demonstrations. Region 18 would like to thank Officer Helgerson and the Eagan Police Department for their dedication to protecting the citizens of the City of Eagan and the State of Minnesota. Rest in Peace, Maverick.
